Restorative Yoga Experience: Joy & Peace with Kim Traverso with Kim Traverso Sun, Nov 29, 2015 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Restorative yoga is medicine for the mind and body.
Come experience the benefits of this deeply supportive practice with Kim Traverso, CHHC, AADP, RYT.

Restorative yoga is a quieting, supportive practice using well-placed blankets, bolsters, yoga straps, sand bags, etc. to safely guide the body and breath into relaxation and ease.
Take a journey inward to balance, replenish, and revitalize your body, mind, and spirit after any stress that the holiday's can bring.

Restorative yoga peels away the layers of chronic stress, which many of us have and don't realize until we either burn out or worse, get sick/disease.

This practice turns on your rest and digest system (parasympathetic nervous system) and 75 minutes of the practice is equivalent to 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Rasa is a Sanskrit word that is defined as juice, flavor, or the essence of one's heart in its pure state. This practice awakens the deepest layer, which is the body of bliss!

Some of the many benefits:

-Facilitates the switch of the nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic
-Assists in releasing stuck emotions
-Aids digestion
-Decreases inner and outer muscular tension
-Increases Immunity
-Helps you feel safe and nurtured
-Relieves physical pain
-Reduces Insomnia and Fatigue
-Increases concentration and the ability to make decisions
-Strengthens acceptance and detachment
-Allows adrenal glands to rest and heals adrenal burnout

Don't miss out!  This is open to all levels and will fill up fast.

Krushing on Krishna

The name of Krishna’s beloved, Radha, is actually
derived from the Sanskrit for yearning. In this playful
vinyasa class we’ll explore the idea of spiritual love
and longing, infusing it into our ecstatic movements,
so that we can use the body as a direct means of
connecting to the divine! There will be lyrical flows,
Krishna stories, flip it upside down moments, deep
heart openers and of course sweet forward folds that
pave the way for a deeply satisfying savasana. Open
to all levels of experience!

The Art of Arm Balances = Flying Hip Openers with Matt Giordano with Matt Giordano Sat, Jan 16, 2016 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

At the young age of 7, Matt Giordano began studying Martial Arts. The disciplined practice of holding postures while maintaining absolute focus on the breath was strikingly familiar when he began his Yoga journey at age 24. Matt began by exploring many different styles of yoga, and practicing up to 8 hours a day. He found that he gravitated towards more disciplined practices that focused on precise alignment, but he also really enjoyed styles that linked breathing and movement. Naturally, Matt’s teaching style is a powerfully unique blend of alignment, breath, and movement in order to awaken the highest sense of joy within each student.

Here is a video to get you excited for this incredible event:

Matt is based in NYC, and travels around passionately sharing his discoveries through workshops, and teacher trainings. Trainings include Pure Yoga, Yoga Tune Up, Integrated Embodied Anatomy, Anusara, AcroYoga and many more.

“Nothing fulfills me more than witnessing people courageously expand their body, mind, and soul. Whether a person walks in ready to celebrate life or is seeking such inspiration, I hope that they leave feeling peaceful in their heart and empowered in their spirit.” – Matt Giordano

Arm Balances: Flying Hip Openers

Arm balances are some of the most fun, exciting, and challenging poses of the yoga practice. Most also require flexible hips—a place many of us have tightness. Don’t let that deter you from starting arm balance practice now. Finding hip flexibility is more than simply stretching and waiting to achieve the elasticity we desire. With Matt, we explore techniques to find our fullest range of motion through optimal skeletal alignment and muscular engagement for deep, isometric hip strengtheners. We will also develop a true sense of our core and how its location, stability and strength relate to our arms and hips. Get ready to sweat, fly, and go deeper in your body in a way that is safe, healthy and absolutely powerful.

Bliss Body Yoga: Chakras, Mudras & Asana with Dana Potts Next held on Sun, Jan 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Sun Jan 31, 2016 - Mon Feb 1, 2016
We are not just our physical bodies. Within each of us there are dynamic, vibrational energies, the Chakras. These ‘wheels’ of radiant energy correspond to emotional and spiritual issues and challenges that we face each day.

Through the asana practice, we activate and direct energy to open both a physical and an energetic channel in the body.
Mudras are hand positions, engaged to seal psychic energies into specific channels within the subtle body. They are potent spiritual tools that can enhance the purification and good health of your physical, mental and psychic being.
This workshop promises to be unique in its practical, emotional, mindful and physical approach to working with subtle energy.
